Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

We don’t know how much of the slow progress and its duration was built into the forecast to date. A couple of the models shifted W earlier today. We’ll know more at 11:00 PM update.

I totally agree. If there are any drastic changes to their modes and it doesn’t make the projected turn they are banking on, it could continue its march westward and end up in SWFL. I was in Cape Coral for Irma so I’m not ruling anything out.

I am of the opinion that Dorian’s slowed speed is an indication
that it has hit the ‘wall’ (the high pressure ridge),
and it is preparing for it’s northward turn.
