Greenlanders were not the only ones mocking reports that President Donald Trump was considering buying Greenland.
After The New York Times reported Thursday that Trump joked about trading Puerto Rico for Greenland, Puerto Ricans clapped back on social media.
"Denmark is the country with the best education in the world," a man wrote on Twitter.
"Honestly being part of Denmark may be the best thing to ever happen to us," Dartina Marie Pérez, who lives in Puerto Rico, tweeted.
A Puerto Rican podcaster, known as Nieto, shared what some labeled as the Danish "Starter Kit."
"I have been preparing for when Trump exchanges us for Greenland and we are a colony of Denmark," Nieto tweeted in Spanish, sharing photos of "Danish Delights" butter cookies, the TV show "Vikings" and Danish beer bottles.
Others included a Danish-to-Spanish dictionary on their "Starter Kits."

How much did we spend on that hurricane relief? Maybe they can pay it back as part of “The Deal”.
Theyll just love 40+% income tax, 100% car tax, VATs, no
work O/T, little product choice in stores (toothpaste/tampon/salad dressing A or B, thats it), rules up the butt about what they can and cant do.
They havent a clue.
Let’s not stop with Puerto Rico and California. Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York and all of Massachusetts are a natural fit with Denmark. Greenland for all of them would be an even trade.
Id trade PR to anyone for nothing.
That sure would be a good deal for us!
As a Russian friend once told me "Even Pravda would criticize the Politboro once in awhile." Has the New York Times ever criticized the Democrat establishment?
It would take a lot of boot...
Yep!
I could use me some nothing, and I have no use for PR at all.
I like to be in America!for
O.K. by me in America!

Danish pastries arent Danish, btw.
It ain’t worth all the beads in china!
All joking aside, Puerto Rico would end up with a much better deal.
How???
Well, the American democratic/socialist/progressive/communist party would no longer be able to have their way, and the democrats would lose at least 2 million votes in the U.S. if Puerto Ricans decided to go with Danish citizenship.
The much better part for Puerto Ricans is that, the dummies in FR would stop making their idiotic jokes about giving P.R back to Spain, and they might finally stop being so bigoted.
I don’t think we should have to pay Mexico as much as 24 beads, offer them 10 instead, maybe throw in a cruise.
Well said!
Grifter “colony” looking for a better mark.
Let the Danes have it. They are still sore about losing the Virgin islands.
Legos-——a HUGE business.
And an open border where we have a fence on the east side of California extending up to the Canadian border.
