Seriously, do it. Many of these waitstaffers are likely doing it on purpose without thinking too hard on it. They may see seniors as light tippers, so they routinely save the best seats for parties they see as more likely to tip heavily after a pleasant experience away from the aforementioned nuisances and distractions. You and your wife don't have to silently suffer this kind of casual discrimination. Be polite, but be firm! ^_^
My wife and I, being senior citizens and no children at home, eat out fairly regularly.
But when we do, it seems the hostesses always seat us in teh family sections with all the screaming children or if not here, they seat us next to the kitchen doors with constant going out and coming in.
There’s this one place we go that every time we go we seem to get the same seats.
I told the hostess that we should have our name engraved on the table...................
