Texas Republicans bracing for a Blue Wave in 2020. Yes, Texas
The New Republic ^

When Beto O’Rourke proclaimed, during the second round of Democratic presidential debates, that “there’s a new battleground state, Texas, and it has 38 Electoral College votes,” eyes rolled in unison across America. We’ve all heard that nonsense before! Pundits and progressives have been predicting that minority-white Texas would go blue for so long, it’s practically become a running joke. And while O’Rourke came tantalizingly close to knocking off Ted Cruz last fall, that race seemed to have all the hallmarks of a fluke—a Republican senator who even Republicans can’t stomach, running in a strong Democratic midterm cycle against a fresh-faced liberal who eschewed all forms of conventional political wisdom and ran a campaign so novel, so tireless, and so perfectly made for social media that it became a viral sensation. Post-Betomania, most people assumed that Texas Democrats would resume their role as American politics’ saddest underachievers, while Texas Republicans extended their quarter-century run of dominance as their national party’s ideological, financial, and electoral-vote stronghold.

The level of voter fraud would have to be astronomical to turn Texas blue. Not going to happen.

Voter fraud will happen, but it's the number of ILLEGALS that have been here for 20-40 years that have spawned multiple children that are now of voting age. They breed like rabbits.

He didn’t lose by much. I live in a very conservative rural area and was surprised by the number of Be to signs I saw.

You make good points. But will your Hispanic buddies connect the dots and realize that the Dems want their guns? Too many people can’t think critically.

May not happen in 2020, but soon.

Agree. I expect POTUS will win reelection because the Dems went full bore socialist about a decade too soon. But that’s how they roll. Like children they can’t help themselves.

All my Hispanic buddies are just as serious about their guns as are any of my Anglo buddies. If those idiot democraps will keep pushing the heck out gun control, Texas will stay safe. Hopefully the democraps will never be smart enough to come up with someone that supports all the rest of their crappy agenda, but is AGAINST gun control.

Unfortunately, their wives/girlfriends/baby mamas largely do not have the same feelings towards conservative positions. Texas will be either Dem or Dem Lite GOP eventually. Demographics are destiny.

Beto had a lot of money, donations NOT from Texas. Should go back to when Senators weren’t elected, and represented their state. Repeal the 17th amendment.

I believe TX Republicans were quite mischievous in propping up Cruz during the 18 man Primary contest and terribly disappointed, even bitter, when Trump won the nomination. Thus, the meager 9 point Trump win in Texas was the result, in the General.

That disappointment has certainly subsided, it seems, as Trump has proven his Conservative metal, against all odds and against current crop of UniParty Republican forces on the hill, and the interference from other global forces, both foreign and domestic.

Trump will be very hard to beat in ‘20, in Texas, and reliable sources report the tricky voter logs and fraud have been quietly addressed both before and since the moment Trump won, and were cleaned up in all the right places that especially mattered for 2018, ie., blue state suburbs, as well as since that election also the Texas voter logs.

TX had what was it.. like 90,000 bad ballots cast! Not happening again going forward.

The Americans themselves are the ones refusing to breed;

and the ones that do have a family, their kids are subject to indoctrination in our school systems.

Demographics carry the day.

The long term trend is not in our favor.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Republic

The New Republic is an American magazine of commentary on politics and the arts, published since 1914, with influence on American political and cultural thinking. Founded in 1914 by leaders of the progressive movement, it attempted to find a balance between a humanitarian progressivism and an intellectual scientism, and ultimately discarded the latter.[3] Through the 1980s and ‘90s, the magazine incorporated elements of “Third Way” neoliberalism and conservatism.[4]

In 2014, two years after Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes purchased the magazine, he ousted its editor and attempted to remake its format, operations, and partisan stances, provoking the resignation of the majority of its editors and writers. In early 2016, Hughes announced he was putting the magazine up for sale, indicating the need for “new vision and leadership”.[5][6] It was sold in February 2016 to Win McCormack.[7]

Wiki is not always right. But he New Republic are progressives. And from Facebook? Head Shake.

It better. However, I had s buddy of mine move down to Austin about 10-15 years ago. He was a hardcore, pro-life conservative. He’s now a bake the homos a cake and Christians are all hypocrites, woman should have the right to choose, liberal. The only conservative view he still has is on the 2nd Amendment. Is Austin like a liberal cesspool in Texas or is my fiend just an anomaly.
