That may be a regional thing; in my state of NJ private education is too expensive, especially when considering the thousands we pay for “public school tuition” in property taxes (3/4 of our tax bills go to public schools). I believe other states which aren’t dominated by teachers’ unions may offer more options for parents; in the past, NJ certainly did.
