WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump says he’s “very strongly” considering commuting the sentence of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who is serving a 14-year prison term on multiple federal corruption convictions.
Trump suggested more than a year ago that he was considering a commutation for Blagojevich, who then filed paperwork requesting a commutation.
The president told reporters Wednesday night while returning to Washington aboard Air Force One that he thought Blagojevich, a Democrat, had been treated “unbelievably unfairly.”

Can’t think of anything more politically harmful to Trump if he actually commutes the sentence of this corrupt, vile Democratic politician. People will really begin to wonder.

His sentence was just, and he should serve out his time.

GO for it. He did what they all did, maybe less subtly. I never felt he needed to go to jail and didn’t see the crime in what he did. The 14 years was personal vindictiveness, not justice. Set him free!

Yea sure. If that were the case he would first give a deposition under oath and testify before a grand jury. Then after he testified in open court , it may be appropriate to commute his sentence. BTW have Comey, McCabe, Brennan or Clapper been arrested yet? Sorry but this Administration does not exercise power very well.
I tend to agree, that guy was bad. Don’t waste a pardon on him.
He may have another reason, Blago may have revenge dirt on the Chicago machine, but still not good enough.

They shuttled this guy off to prison for a long term because he said what they do every damn day in politics.

While I agree with regard to Comey, Blago committed serious crimes. He was a sitting governor. He knew better. He committed them anyway.
He knew the stakes.
Blagojevich was on Celebrity Apprentice.
How about Manafort? Hard to think of anyone treated more unfairly than him. And, if I’m not mistaken, he was a loyal Trump supporter.
Lots of attention payed to that rapper that got in hot water in Sweden, so I expect the utmost attention and fairness payed to Assauge, right? Right, Mr. President?
