I know of several people now whose only “mental” problems are obviously caused by drug abuse. And according to them, what do their weirdo, Voodoo psychs and quacks do for them? They keep them on drugs known to be addictive erasers of healthy inhibitions, as their clients get increasingly worse and more volatile. The corruption in this country is nauseating.
Under the political circumstances, the only likely solution that might help (a little, sometimes), would be for many more sane, sensible, old fashioned people to become trained, equipped and insured for self-defense. Remember those profiles for a little more awareness, and don’t let the PC bug catch you unawares. For a major *one* of those profiles, if it looks counter-culture, don’t trust it. We all know about the trendy and colorful accoutrements and behaviors.
now I’ll say I never was a psych, at least not with a license or state certificate. But I had a case load in youth corrections and w had little training when I hired in. I changed my major from History to Human Services which was heavy with clinical psych and taught by practitioners. Also had some admin classes unusual for undergrad. Call State Fullerton late 1970s.
That Education served me in my personal life and throughout my career up into management.
