the problem comes when one political group believes that their opposition should be labeled mental cases.
Every law on the books has the potential for abuse, including for political ax-grinding. Thats no reason to disband the police and repeal all our laws
We need to allow liberals to have their own country with ALL their ideas in place. Every citizen makes their own call where they want to live. They can live in Conservative American or Liberal American.
Both sides pay half to build a wall - so when people on their side try to escape they can’t come to our side without permission.
Think of it - DAY ONE liberals could open the border to Mexico and bring in ALL of the third world that wants to be their ‘cheap labor’... Medicare for all could be signed into law DAY ONE. ICE could be outlawed. No police allowed in black or brown communities... anyone can throw water or garbage on police. Liberals would love the place. Minimum wage of $50 an hour. Everyone’s rich.
Thought crimes would be more important than old style ‘real’ crimes like rape and robbery. If you ‘hate’ the wrong people YOU go to prison. They would LOVE IT. So let
‘s talk it up - split the country into two countries... One for them - for liberals - and one for us - conservatives.
Democrat back illegals - and encourage people to come to our country against our laws. That's functioning above the law.
So that's not the issue. Teddy Kennedy murders a women while driving drunk and there were ZERO legal problems for him. He was above the law. So was Hillary. So was her husband the rapist. There are hundreds of times liberal ‘elites’ put themselves above the law - nothing happened to them. Want your kid in the best schools? Bribe ‘em. After the dust settles nothing will happen to these people because they're democrats.
So do I trust them not to abuse laws? No, they'll abuse laws they demand we follow. There's no law in this country - only ‘suggestions’ for liberal elites and law for the rest of us. That's not rule of law. It's the same thuggery that goes on in North Korea. Rule of law doesn't mean people have to follow the law. North Koreans have to follow the law... But like in that hellhole, the elites don't have to follow the law. For them it's optional. Same as here. It's time to split the country. Everyone gets to live where they want to - one side conservative. One side liberal.
OH has its own version of FL’s Baker Act.
If someone knew the perp was an imminent danger to himself and/or someone else, that could have been used.
We can’t stop them from breaking the law.
If you take away a crazy persons guns, youve stopped him from killing people with guns
It is TIME to scrutinize anyone with these clear symptoms and have a place for them to be rehabbed or at least attempt to. It is cruel to them and dangerous for us to leave them alone.
Freedom is for the over 18 and fully sane and competent. Its not freedom for the rest.
It is the American duty of the free, whole-bodied to care for those who cannot. We need to provide decent institutions, villages, for those who cannot yet (if ever) function among us, and cant be cared for by families.
Those in positions of power agree: Your post is neither competent nor sane.
See how easy it is to lose Freedom under your silly notion?
That too!
The idea is not bad, keeping weapons away from crazy people... but the execution is dangerous, as eventually one side will be tempted to use the idea as a political weapon ... casting their enemies as crazy and having their weapons removed by force. Youre infinitely better off monitoring the crazy people.
See how easy it is to lose Freedom under your silly notion?
Life has some grey areas.
one Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest glorified that position, that it is better to let everyone have freedom no matter how criminally insane (if they havent committed the crime yet).
But I live in LA and I remember when you didnt need to fear attacks in a nice neighborhood for one short walk on a boulevard from parking to the shop. Ive been threatened by an insane homeless addict (in KFC) and I now feel there needs to be a safe competency test. And I do feel that it needs to be opened up and addressed by the nation from all sides.
LOL - if you have the right person at the right moment you’re right. But most street people can secure an illegal gun as easily as scoring drugs.
That said, my comment referred to democrats - not to shooters. But I enjoyed your comment anyhow.
