Police and other emergency services are responding to reports of an active shooting at the Walmart near the Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, Texas, local officials and witnesses say. Only few details were immediately available.
The incident began at about 11 a.m. on Saturday when officers were called for an active shooter at Walmart. It was not immediately clear if police have confirmed a shooting and, if so, what is the status of the suspect.

Although 3 against one is not great odds, if enough people were carrying and firing on them from different directions, then they would have their hands full and I wouldn’t expect the slaughter that happened.

Here we go again. I’m shocked he didn’t do this the day before the Democrat Debates.
I used to carry a gun only at night. It is probably time to start carrying even on a daytime trip to WalMart or taking the grandkids to a festival. Might try an ankle holster. These sorts of scenarios don’t typically require a fast draw, and a gun on my ankle would be better than no gun at all.
Problem is these scenarios also may require longer shots. My Ruger EC9 is a nice gun but not very good for a longer shot. I’ve usually carried a J-frame as a “belly gun” - for very close range shooting - but that isn’t the threat scenario any more.
This does not sound like a gang shooting.

I’ve been reading this site daily since its very beginning but just recently started posting. Why? Because I didn’t want to be associated with numskulls posting stupid political jokes at some murdered persons expense.

This is the second Walmart shooting in a week. Monday or Tuesday of this week, there was a shooting at the Walmart in Southaven, Mississippi. Could be a copy cat want some attention. So very sad. Prayers for those affected by this insanity.
