Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., is getting impatient with the FBI in his effort to root out misconduct in the early stages of the Trump-Russia investigation and went over Director Christopher Wray's head to try and move things along.
In the balance, the GOP investigator said in a letter to top Justice Department officials last week, is the American public's ability to fully understand DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz's upcoming report on alleged surveillance abuses.
In the letter addressed to Attorney General William Barr and Horowitz, Meadows pushed for the unredacted release of five pages related to British ex-spy Christopher Steele, who compiled an unverified dossier on President Trump's ties to Russia that was used by the bureau to obtain the authority to spy on a member of his campaign, Carter Page.
Meadows cited a Freedom of Information Act legal battle over the disclosure of documents from Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec that followed her meeting with Steele on Oct. 11, 2016, 10 days before the first Page warrant application was submitted. Notes taken from that meeting by Kavalec, obtained and released by conservative group Citizens United through open-records litigation, cast doubt on Steele's reliability. Kavalec wrote that during that meeting Steele admitted he was encouraged by his client, which was the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, to get his research out before the November 2016 election, signaling a possible political motivation. Kavalec's notes also show she believed some of Steele's allegations were false.

Wray believes he works for FBI staffers and Deep Staters across the US government AND INTERNATIONALLY he does not believe he works for President Trump and the American People.
Trump can order any information from the FBI. If he does not get it the next day he can fire the director.
Why does he sit on his hands and do nothing but tweet?
Bump for the crackpots who think this bum is a white hat.
So much for all the *BOOM* investigations going on. We can’t even pry the FISA docs loose... and those are the basis for the entire scheme.
Didn’t Trump say release it all. Maybe a few heads need to roll.
Wray is protecting the institution and in doing so, protecting the guilty.
Good for Meadows. Having been in positions I’ve had to break protocol, I can say it doesn’t make one many friends, and one discovers memories are long. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t, so full ahead, or head out the door. Meadows isn’t heading out the door as far as I can tell, so lets see how this all works out. Interesting. Maybe someone high up the chain will kick the right butt, and we’ll finally make some progress.
Trump is not the first nanny or a human police action for every quarrel between Congress and Wray, or Barr, or Congress and the myriad of US departments loaded with career deep staters. This is between two separate branches of government.
Im glad Meadows tried an apparently unique approach to circumvent this Wray guy. Wray has proven to be Comey II. Look what happened to him.
Wray will be gone when a trustworthy replacement can be found.

And one who the Senate will confirm as well.
You recall the FBI had/has its own hierarchy system of succession. Obama corrupted it right before he left office and locked in the top four deep staters for ascension to Director. The fledgling Trump administration had to face Obamas next-in-line, and I remember the name Boentes, or something like that, among them. They are all Gone now.
Anyway, Trumps people got their bearings and Trump undid Obamas EO on that hot loaded ascendancy trickery and took slow control.
from one possible perspective all this delay is a form of slo mo kabuki designed for maximum yield on target around october 2020, just before the november 2020 election.
personally i would find it tough to wait that long, however...
How do you like the sound of “FBI Director David Clarke”?
Chris Wray needs to be fired!
Wray is just as corrupt as his predecessors Comey, Strzok/Page, Yates, etc. TIME TO FIRE HIM, NOW!
Trump gave the responsibility to Barr. Be patient.
