“to make money for Turin Cathedral”

I hope it does. The repairs after the fire were quite expensive.

Actually, no, not to make money for "the Turin Cathedral" (the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist). The Shroud has been publicly displayed only rarely--- it is exceedingly fragile --- and there has been no charge to view it.

You can go to the Museum of the Holy Shroud and the Centerfor the Scientific Study of the Shroud and see replicas, as well as presentations on the research results. A ticket costs 3 euros (about $3) for children, 6 euros for adults, if you're interested, and none of it goes to the church.
