I do believe that when He returns we shall see the face of the Son of God.

But that's not to say that's the only time.

There are those alive, even now, who have seen His face. According to what I've heard, He seems to be showing His face to Muslims all over the world, lots of them, right now.

And there are those who lived with Him for 2 1/2 years, and saw His face every day, and yet did not believe.
