Other than trying to figure out whether I am part of this vague reference to ‘many’; I’ll agree whole heartedly with you (and Solomon) here.

Back in the day; I would get locked out of FR for a while for posting statements like that.

Huh, so in your offermod you have the nerve to contradict a very archangel as quoted in Scripture. I guess just typing this precludes any explanation of what you are referring to; eh?
Far be it from ANYONE to contradict an ANGEL in Scripture!!

Because God knew of the error brewing in Russia at that time, and in His mercy, wanted us to pray against it.
The Bible contains doctrine, but does not warn us of individual specific contemporary schemes of the Devil.
That’s why I used the analogy of the transmitter from HQ upthread.
But for some reason, you had to let yourself do a knee-jerk slander instead of considering it.

trying to figure out whether I am part of this vague reference to many Such self-examination is admirable. Asking the Spirit is better yet.

I apologize. I should not have assumed that appealing to the Spirit was not already a part of your effort.

The problem is by limiting yourself to Scripture FOR EVERYTHING, you're missing out on movements and activity of God, for our good, individually and corporately. The problem when you don't limit yourself to Scripture for His Truth is you open yourself up to false messages...like the apparition and the lie of the scapular.

That’s quite cryptic. Is your approval general or personal?

It was juvenile the first time you used it and it still is.

And then there's the Virgin of Guadalupe. Responsible for a whole truckload of conversions to Christianity. Correction....conversions to Roman Catholicism.
There is a difference.

Merely obeying scripture could probably alleviate that afore mentioned condition...

Double check your post #1221 this thread before patting yourself on the back too hard. It was that post which I was referring to by “slander”...

As long as it leads them to Jesus, I don't care.
I remember a story an old girlfriend told me -- either from a religious studies professor at college, or a missionary visiting her (VERY non-Catholic) Church.
The missionaries were undertaking to translate the Bible for some jungle tribe, and they got to the part about John the Baptist pointing out Jesus. This tribe didn't have sheep (the terrain was all wrong). So the missionaries translated the passage as
"Behold the frog of God, who takes away the sins of the world."
Thinking about that now, I'm wondering if that gave them problems later on when teaching about the Last Supper and "Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us."
But one step at a time.
