Why the Left So Despises Donald Trump

Like many others, I have for some time been trying to understand Trump Derangement Syndrome, the phenomenon of otherwise reasonable people reacting irrationally to some peculiar quality of the president, a quality especially in evidence when he is in the presence of his supporters.

Some of it is easy enough to comprehend. Unlike any president since at least Jackson, Mr. Trump was elected by attacking the entire political class from right to left and practically all leaders of both parties and the parties themselves. He managed to stir up enough discontent to win the nomination of one of the parties and then got just enough votes in the right places to win the election.

Since Mr. Trump had opposed everyone in both parties, they all opposed him, and the Republicans, almost as much as the Democrats, wanted to get rid of him. If there had been any truth at all to the gigantic fatuity about Trump-campaign collusion with Russia, there would have been bipartisan enthusiasm and relief in throwing him out of the White House like a large dead mouse.

Mr. Trump was not only the first president who had never sought or held a public office, elected or unelected, or a military position. He also had no knowledge of the official procedures and attitudes in the upper approaches to the presidency. As he had changed parties seven times in 13 years looking for his chance to try the novel theory of turning celebrity, and often rather crass celebrity, into electability, and had countered press skepticism with social-media direct contact with the people, supplemented by support on the talk-radio circuit, which generally enlists the attention of a lower-middle- and working-class demographic, he had no cadre of political loyalists to assist him.

He got just enough votes in just the right places! Yeah, NY Sun, those places are known as States. Look at a map of the election someday, NY Sun, you’ll be astonished to see that even in States Trump lost, he won the overwhelming number of counties in those States. If States allocated their electoral college votes along those lines instead of the popular vote, I think he would’ve won all 50 States. Even California.

The progressives and their foreign handlers thought it was over for Capitalism and the Republicans. Abortion on demand, open borders, legal drugs, dangerous environmental laws and socialism were but one election night away. After eight years of Obama, they thought America had finally come to heel. Clinton would have been the final nail in our coffin, instead they got President Donald Trump from which they might never recover their goals for, they were literally shocked at the “stupidity” of America and still are.

The left thought they had the winning lottery ticket in Clinton and Trump took it away.

For most of them, it’s because they’re told to. Simple as that.

There’s no thinking going on. There’s a good reason the NPC meme struck a nerve with them.

Great points all.

With all their (Democrat media) typical venom directed as usual towards whomever the incoming Republican President is, Trump was supposed to take the humble obligatory meek attitude towards them. AND APOLOGIZE. And, say, “What do I have to do to not offend you?”.

The more Trump fights back the more deranged they become. They have no play book to go back to. Old methods of intimidating and taming a Republican President don’t work on Trump.

Old standard bearing Republicans like Romney, McCain and the Bushies were “rightly” educated and trained by the Democrat media when they were young so they knew how to behave and, of course, to be offended by any Republican who would dare to stand up to the Democrat media.

Cause his immediate reaction to the left isn’t ‘Surrender first, ask questions later’?

But he understands human nature.

The more interesting question is why Conservative, Inc. so despises Donald Trump on the same grounds as the Left.

Trump exposes the lies and corruption in the government and gets right down to the reasons why we DON’T need the media and it’s master ruling class of human scum.

It’s not Trump they despise. Anyone that is not a demonrat in office they despise. The demise of the USA was supposed to have occurred under 0bummer and continued under Hitlary. These two were to usher in Socialism. They knew it could not be done in 8 years. The election of Trump was not anticipated. They thought his run was a joke. Yeb would have helped the demise of the USA had he been elected instead of Hitlary. The deep state had already planned this out. Trump got in the way but the left’s hatred was to be thrown at anyone in office that was not a demonrat.

The only problem we face as a nation is what happens post-Trump era? Does the plan get reinstated? Trump is unique, meaning after Trump, who is there to carry on what he has begun? Absolutely no one and the deep state knows this. They are biding their time. This is why it is so crucial Trump not waste any more time and start really putting into action of draining the swamp or this all for naught.

The hatred is also driven by his successes.

Before President Trump took office, the elite, the best of the best, the smartest of the smart, who've been running things for all this time, predicted that he'd crash the stock market and drive the economy into the ground. But that didn't happen.

Each success of his highlights a failure of theirs. Each success is another nail in the coffin of everything that these people believed. So for them, he is the source of all their pain, and they're lashing out at him to try to make it go away.

My take follows through on the metaphor of progressivism as akin to a religion. In this religion the cathedral is the University, the confessional a seminar room, loyal voters are students and the Democrat elected officials are benevolent scholars.

Enter Donald Trump, not of their class. A billionaire, yet he is not of their class because class to these people has nothing to do with being to the manor born but to having the imprimatur of academia. Even though he attended Wharton, he is not of the Academy. All our modern presidents since Harry Truman have had the trappings of a high-class education. All of them acted as though they have inherent claim to cap and gown. Even though they painted George Bush as a bumbling fool, he was nevertheless Yale and Harvard. Richard Nixon was to a degree despised partly because he attended Whittier College, his claim was marginal.

Donald Trump trespasses into the cathedral as a Rasputin, a despicable intruder with malevolent powers who is simply not entitled to hold the scepter because he is not of the cowl. He is a monster with evil intent who has dark powers over the deplorables and Irredeemables without the sanctification bestowed by academia.

He is a living defilement of everything they hold dear. He is illegitimate because he is of the wrong class, he is a mountebank, a fakir, a false prophet, a Neanderthal who has no right to enter the cathedral, an apostate whose very presence corrupts the holy of holies.

His in your face boorishness outrages their catechism. But if he succeeds while he is so blatantly what he is, their legitimacy as elitists disintegrates.

If Trump behaved as a gentleman to the irrational attacks on his right to breathe the same air as everyone else, he would be literally crucified.

He is doing what I have begged Republicans todo since 1968 i.e. throw absurdity right back in their faces. When he does he gets even more absurdity.

Up to now the United States has always been lucky to have the right guy rise at the right time in the destructive crisis. I never wanted Trump to win but was never a never-Trumper. If the United States survives as founded, real history books will do right by Trump.
