Omar was defiant, criticizing Trump’s "fascist" policies, and promised to continue standing up for her beliefs, pointing to her Medicare-for-All town hall this evening.
"Everybody is talking about that he is threatened because we criticize him," she said. "But the reality is that he is threatened because we are inspiring people to dream about a country that recognizes their dignity and humanity."
"His nightmare is seeing a Somali immigrant refugee rise to Congress," she continued. "His nightmare is seeing the beautiful mosaic fabric of our country welcome someone like me as their member of Congress home to Minnesota." "We are going to continue to be a nightmare to this president, because his policies are a nightmare to us," she said.
"We are not deterred, we are not frightened, we are ready," she said. "We are in the ring, we are in the people’s house ... we are going to continue fighting until we have the America we all deserve."

She won her election with 267.7k votes. This event represents a 0.03% turnout rate (assuming the seventy voted for her).
If Trump achieved that "turnout rate" at rallies etc nationally, then a national total of 16,473 people would turn out for his rallies. In reality, Trump gets more than that at each of his rallies.
Thus, Trump garners a better turnout rate nationally than Rep Omar does in her own district. And Trump doesn't turn his back to his supporters and speak to the press like she did.

And more media outlets might report that...were it not for the stupid, ad-hoc "send her back" chant that Trump never introduced, which has now made her a martyr and hero.

Being a "martyr and here" will only matter if the "independents" overwhelmingly buy into that hook line and sinker. I doubt they will, cause if they really do, Trump was already likely not getting re-elected regardless of Omar/Elmi.
