I’m not sure I understand how the family entered the US as refugees, but her brother was not admitted at the same time.
There are reports her father was one of the warlords we were there to fight, the ones who were attacking the food aid workers, massacring them, robbing them. If so, they lied to get into the country in the first place.
Not that the previous administrations would have cared about that.

They apparently split the family up, perhaps because of its size.
The eldest sister took herself and her two brothers to England, and raised the youngest brother. I am not sure of the age of the older brother. The father took the two younger daughters with him to the U.S., where they changed their names and claimed they were part of another family.
