Minnesotans have picked the Democratic nominee for the White House in every election since 1972. Trump, who lost the state by just 1.5 percentage points in 2016, believes he can end that streak. With 15 months to go until the general election, the GOP is doubling down on efforts to turn Minnesota red, putting national campaign staff on the ground and hosting a series of training sessions to mobilize Republican voters.
Were really excited to be very, very ahead of the curve as far as historically staffing up, especially in a state that the president came within 44,000 votes of flipping last time, said Stephanie Alexander, the Midwest regional field director for Trump Victory, a joint effort by the Republican National Committee and the presidents re-election campaign. This is the first time this has ever been done, she added.
The early infusion of GOP resources reflects a growing perception that Minnesota could be a battleground state a status it has rarely been accorded in modern presidential politics. Nominees from both parties are expected to aggressively court voters across the Upper Midwest after narrow wins in states like Michigan and Wisconsin sealed Trumps path to victory in 2016. Campaign manager Brad Parscale told the political news site Axios that Minnesota is one of the campaigns top pickup targets for next years election.

I think that her words and actions are helping Trump. She is so radical, that only the most, far lefties can support her.
I think she is driving people to Trump.
There is so much voter fraud in Minnesota that Republicans need to overcome. It’s a daunting challenge.
Richatd Baris has said minys Access Hollywood Trump would have won MN
IMHO-the “real Democrat” vote has always been around 35%...with most of the Blue victories being fraudulent manipulation.
Most people really just aren’t that stupid.....
From what Ive read, they even hate African-American Minnesotans and the feeling is mutual.

The skinnies fight with the blacks all the time. I live one suburb away from Minneapolistan and see it first hand.
President Trump has a real shot here. Minnesota and Minneapolistan are two different worlds and he knows that.
Good Trump would have won MN in 2016 had the election been a week or two later. Won it huge on Election Day, early voting bank the only reason it didnt go red in 2016.
Fully expect Trump to take it in 20
Remember the November 6, 2016, rally in the Twin Cities?
Much of Wisconsin is in the Twin Cities media market, and Minnesota itself was close when the votes came in. Candidate Trump had good info.
What’s the ratio between real Americans vs. foreigners in Minnesota?
If Trump wants to take Minnesota then he needs the Democrats to nominate a candidate as God-awful as Hillary Clinton so those 325,000 voters stay home rather than go to the polls. I'm not sure which one that could be.
“From the article. They are not going to just throw money at it like the dems. There are other useful assets, Trump being the main one.”
Trump’s team probably has the project plan for doing this in place. He is now looking for the resources to execute it.
Thanks be to God. Someone has finally noticed that outstate Minnesota is filled with patriotic and religious Americans who loath leftism.
We have been overwhelmed by the radials in the Twin Cities and their mostly supportive news media which dominates the outstate news waves. I happen to be active in the local GOP, but those who are not so active were hardly aware that Keith Ellison, the Democrat candidate for Attorney General was a radical ex-con, Muslim convert and devotee of sharia law, as well as a misogynist who beat up his girlfriend.
When the Twin Cities new media fails to give equal time to the GOP candidates for state office, those who live further away from the metro area, are not well-informed.
I believe those who live in upstate New York have the same problem.
“St Cloud seats” pickup for the GOP? St Cloud is in the 6th congressional district and has a Republican representative in Tom Emmer. The 6th congressional district is the most conservative district in the state.
It includes several northern suburbs of the Twin Cities plus central Minnesota - eastern Stearns County = a strongly conservative district with a pro-life history. Descendants of German and Polish Catholics whose ancestors were once Democrats, but have long since migrated towards the GOP.
Thanks BeauBo.
