As of April 2019 the population of American Samoa is approximately 55,689 people.[1][6][7] Most of them are “nationals but not citizens of the United States at birth”.[8][7][6] Most American Samoans are bilingual and can speak English and Samoan fluently. Samoan is the same language spoken in neighboring independent Samoa.

re being born in Samoa

Regardless of where they are born, children of U.S. citizens are U.S. citizens in most cases. Children born outside the United States with at least one U.S. citizen parent usually have birthright citizenship by parentage.
