House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said there will be massive political consequences if Justice Department officials don't face jail time for their conduct during the Russia investigation.
According to Nunes, the Russia investigation was an "obstruction of justice trap," that started without evidence of collusion and ended in an "awful situation" that could only be fixed by jailing the people who "perpetuated this hoax."
"These are all a bunch of dirty cops and I'll tell you," he told Fox News' Bill Hemmer on the latest "Hemmer Time" podcast. "We're going to go down in a spiral in this country because you will not have a Republican that will trust the FBI or the Department of Justice for generations to come."
Nunes specifically mentioned Andrew Weissman, one of the Mueller team's top prosecutors who briefed AP reporters in 2017, before Mueller's team was assembled, on "something to do with the Trump-Russia investigation."
Authorities, Nunes said, hid that fact from his committee -- something he said was inappropriate given that Weissman was briefed on the Steele dossier in the summer of 2016.
At Mueller's hearing, Nunes plans to ask him whether he knew that Weissmann had been briefed on the dossier. Weissmann's early involvement with the chain of custody, according to legal advice Nunes received, effectively disqualified him from serving on Mueller's team.

I think Barr’s report will probably essentially indict the agencies for their role in the anti-Trump scandal while foregoing prosecuting the cabal of individuals behind it. Its much easier for him to do this than to go through the hard work of pursuing real justice.
Barr strikes me as the kind of guy who cares more about the overall integrity of the legal process than holding individuals accountable. I hope I’m wrong about that.
Given the largely unchecked extent and pervasiveness of the plot against Trump my expectations for the impact of Barr’s investigation are very low.
Jail time is not necessary. Hangings are.
These people tried to overthrow our government and impose a despotic regime. There is no penalty too severe to apply.
Not that it will do any good, but this needs to be pointed out to Ronna Romney every time one of those GOP ‘surveys’ (fundraising letters) comes in.
She needs to know that the typical GOP con-man is not far behind the DOJ & FBI in terms of trust and believability.
Thus insane "Russian collusion" hoax is just one more reason I haven't trusted the FBI or the department of "justice" for over 20 years.
Our "justice" system from local to federal is a corrupt mess.
The DOJ & FBI are not justice departments.
They are deep State misnamed enforcers, period.
I wish Trump would make an Executive Order that Government employees will be held to a higher standard (kind of like High ranking military) where if they fail to adhere to the law they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
For example, Rosenstein signing off on a FISA warrant without verifying needs prosecution.

What are they waiting for??? Nunes was hindered by Schiff. Actually charged with “violations” which took him off his committee for a year. He should be suing Schiff and the DS. Hopefully something will happen soon or we will all be in deep $hit!.
I agree. I’ve tried to admire and trust Barr; but everyone who’s payed attention knows Mueller & Weissman’s record in hiding evidence, convicting the innocent and 1000s of ruined lives. And still Barr refers to Mule-ears as his “30 year best friend”. Naaah! Ain’t gonna be no REAL justice.
