Trump says he is ‘absolutely moving forward’ with census citizenship question

President Donald Trump on Wednesday called news reports that the Commerce Department would drop its plans to ask people if they are U.S. citizens on the 2020 census “FAKE.”

Trump’s claim came a day after Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said the Census Bureau is in the process of printing the census questionnaire without the citizenship question.

But Trump, in a tweet, said, “The News Reports about the Department of Commerce dropping its quest to put the Citizenship Question on the Census is incorrect or, to state it differently, FAKE!”

Print it on the census form and let the Supreme Court challenge you. Three co equal branches of government, the courts rule this country ONLY because they say they can. The Constitution says nothing of the sort.

...as it stands right now, I am going to write on my Census that I am a US citizen,

That's a great idea. Everyone should do this.

“”Nah, Rep. Tlaib says such a question will make her mom “hesitate”,””

She said a couple of weeks ago that her mother came here 40 years ago and is a citizen now and uncomfortable with that question. Of course, no one asked her why she’s uncomfortable with it if she’s a citizen.

Thanks! Glad you didn't take it as a knock on your idea, it wasn't.

It occurred to me that anyone (illegals) could write 'citizen' on their form. However, the flaw in my plan is that it might be illegal to put false info on it.

Given the voltage of the FedGov I may not go ahead with it.

Hmmm.

I hadn’t considered that aspect, and the image you have chosen has spurred a bit of fear me :O

But yes, I can see value and purpose in writing I am a Us citizen, and I can also see value and purpose in writing that I am an illegal alien.

It’s possible that both responses have the same value and purpose, and that is to show by including either as a response, along with no other response to any other question, that this data is the most important data assessed by the census.

I think several numbskulls in Washington need to understand this, Chief Obama Judge Roberts being one of them.

How many citizens do we have? Actual citizens. Because they need representation, and only them.

I can’t honestly think of any other purpose to our census, or even any other country’s census, than this specific data.

You’ve got absolute agreement from me. FWIW, if you put ‘citizen’ on the form you’re not giving false info so no shock treatment should ensue. lol

If giving unsolicited info is a crime then I’m a mighty guilty man. :)
