HOMESTEAD, Florida — Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) told demonstrators and the assembled media outside the Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Children that migrant children from Central America “had no choice but to come here” because climate change had ravaged their countries.
O’Rourke said that rising temperatures had created droughts, which made it more difficult for people to grow their own food. That, he said, forced them to undertake the arduous journey on foot to the U.S. border, and to cross illegally.
O’Rourke was the fourth presidential candidate to visit the protest outside the facility, where thousands of teenagers, most of whom arrived unaccompanied, are temporarily housed until they can be handed over to a sponsor in the U.S.

What current increase in global temperatures that has occurred has happened in the arctic winter, and higher night temperatures due to increased water vapor in the temperate zone. I have seen nothing at all that has shown any statistically significant shifts in rainfall anywhere.

Wait a minute — in the previous article Bernie Sanders proclaimed that migration was due to violence. So is the combined Bernie-Beeta plan to end the migration crisis by refrigerating Central America to stop the violence?

There has been no discernible change in the climate in Central America in the last century, nor has there been any droughts or other wide spread weather event such as flooding that could cause famines or epidemics.
Central America is pretty much the same depressing Third World dump that it has always been and weather, temperature and climate have not changed in any way that impacts the daily lives of the people there.
Beto is just making a false assertion that has absolutely no basis in fact.
