A medic testifying in the trial of Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher who is accused of killing an injured ISIS prisoner of war in Iraq has shockingly testified Thursday that he is the one who killed the militant, not Gallagher.
The medic told a court at Naval Base San Diego that he killed the fighter by asphyxiation. He also testified that Gallagher stabbed the fighter, but did not kill him.
Gallagher, 40, has pleaded not guilty to premeditated murder and aggravated assault charges stemming from the alleged killing of a wounded ISIS fighter and alleged instances of firing sniper rounds at civilians in Iraq.
Gallagher was undergoing a medical screening at Camp Pendleton and was in the process of transitioning to a non-combat advisory role for the Navy SEALs when he was taken into custody in September 2018, his brother Sean said. Gallagher had planned to retire in the spring.

He's been locked up for a year, had his family drawn through the mud, had his life destroyed, and he didn't do it!
The entire chain of command in this on one should be escorted to Leavenworth!
Rut Roh!
this is incredible. They need to drum the former prosecutor out of the service.
Stabbing a prisoner with a knife (if true) is still a major no-no and can be prosecuted as attempted murder.
Now, THAT is how one takes care of a team member!
Apparently they didn't like him.
There is so much more to this we are not hearing about.
That depends on why he stabbed him. If the terrorist attacked him, zero prosecution. Otherwise, yes, you are correct.
Take no prisoners.
So, what if everyone on that team says they were the one that killed the ISIS P.O.S.??
The Medic had Gov. Immunity, he is off the hook also.
This is “taking one for the team.”
And during his trial, this guy will say he did it.
I don’t care for shooting surrendering enemies, but I can still sleep after this.
I dont know how the UCMJ covers double jeopardy, but the event is the event.
I’ve done some research on this...here’s what I’ve read.
Gallagher has been a Seal for like 18 years with multiple combat tour and medals and has never been written up before.
He’s known as a total hard ass for details.
He’s also a trained medic.
He did cut the prisoners throat but he put in a device in his trachea to help him breathe...
What this has come down to is a hard core 18-year veteran disciplined a bunch of new navy seals who couldn’t deal with it and made allegations that have now gone on way to long...
Perjury?
The Geneva Conventions only protect uniformed combatants. Non-uniformed are susceptible to immediate death.
Okay. That settles it. Now I gotta buy both of ‘em beers!
I dont care for shooting surrendering enemies, but I can still sleep after this.
= = = = = = = =
Nazi UBoaters and Japanese Army had a thing about if you kill prisoners you don’t have to feed and house them and if you just leave them they will likely be back to fight you tomorrow.
Yes Gertrude, War is Hell and whoever thought or thinks you can fight a ‘gentlemans war’ is mistaken.
It used to be said we could end ALL wars if the ‘so called leaders’ who willingly dispatched OTHERS to do their fight for them would just meet head to head and ‘fight’ it out, a lot of this crap would never have happened.
However, it is one way to keep the population trimmed down.
“” “” Non-uniformed are susceptible to immediate death. “” “”
Makes sense as far as 3-S observed. In this case it wasn’t.
Pretty noticeable that we’re only getting pieces. This should have been discovered......now what???
