The recent tax cuts were sunset5ed. The individual and family cuts are scheduled to end in 2025, the very year Trump would leave office if he were elected to a second term.
Corporate tax cuts were made permanent, so the concept was very much on the minds of Republicans. They just flipped the middle class the bird anyway.
