One of the problems is that we have a loophole on immigration law that says that anybody can request asylum, and courts have ruled that once that paper is in the system, illegals can't safely wait anywhere in the world except here. However, if Guatemala agrees to hold such people, they should be able to wait there. To be sure, we would have to give money to Guatemala, but compared to releasing a million, 2, 3, 20 million more here, that sounds like a better outcome.
