Justice Dept. Seeks to Question C.I.A. in Its Own Russia Investigation

WASHINGTON — Justice Department officials intend to interview senior C.I.A. officers as they review the Russia investigation, according to people briefed on the matter, indicating they are focused partly on the intelligence agencies’ most explosive conclusion about the 2016 election: that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia intervened to benefit Donald J. Trump.

The interview plans are the latest sign the Justice Department will take a critical look at the C.I.A.’s work on Russia’s election interference. Investigators want to talk with at least one senior counterintelligence official and a senior C.I.A. analyst, the people said. Both officials were involved in the agency’s work on understanding the Russian campaign to sabotage the election in 2016.

While the Justice Department review is not a criminal inquiry, it has provoked anxiety in the ranks of the C.I.A., according to former officials. Senior agency officials have questioned why the C.I.A.’s analytical work should be subjected to a federal prosecutor’s scrutiny. Attorney General William P. Barr, who is overseeing the review, assigned the United States attorney in Connecticut, John H. Durham, to conduct it.

The Justice Department has not submitted formal written requests to talk to the C.I.A. officers, but law enforcement officials have told intelligence officials that Mr. Durham will seek the interviews, two of the people said. Communications officers for both the C.I.A. and the Justice Department declined to comment. The Senate Intelligence Committee has previously interviewed several of the C.I.A. officers the Justice Department is seeking to talk to, according to a person familiar with the matter. The committee found no problems with their work or the origins of the Russia inquiry.

The C.I.A. director, Gina Haspel, has told senior officials that her agency will cooperate ..

Yes! Have the DOJ use FBI agents do the interview so they can do the Flynn lying to an FBI agent sting! Then give them the choice of jail time or pleading guilty to a lesser crime and flipping on higher ups in the Obama administration.

***The Leftist media is having fits over this turn of events***

They never thought she would lose... AND they presume their side is not subject to the law. Pray for AG Barr and his justice squad.

And pray that a bunch of these corrupt media shills get buried in the avalanche.

“The committee found no problems with their work or the origins of the Russia inquiry. “

I don’t believe the Senate has issued any findings on the origins of Spygate or the related entrapment attempts.

Yup, questioning CIA officials is totally uncalled for. If you can't trust the CIA and congress, who can you trust?

What the NY Slimeballs twist and turn on is “The Committee (Sen. Jud. Com)found no problems with their work or the origins of the Russian inquiry”.

Now to clear out the bullshit. It may be “true” in some weird sense that the SJC found on problems re the “origins of the Russia inquiry” IF they received a request for help from the totally corrupted FBI/DOJ leadership who got involved in the bogus Steele Dossier FIRST, and then passed on their investigation requests telling the CIA that everything was legal, by the book, etc.

I.E. The FBI deceived the CIA into the origins of the Steele Dossier and FISA requests. However, since the CIA was run by Brennan the Traitor, and he was up to his ass in collusion with the “dirty cops” at the FBI, it is possible that he covered up this involvement to the point that some of his key people were not kept in the “know” about the fake origins of the Steele Dossier. Thus they became unwitting dupes of Brennan, Comey, McCabe/Yates, the Ohrs?, Strzok-Page (or they may have been late comers to Comey’s treason/corruption.

Need to know exactly when Clapperless Bell Baldheaded DNI clown was brought into this conspiracy and BY WHOM - BRENNAN? FBI? - Comey and company including the NATIONAL SECURITY DIVISION, which you don’t hear much about re people involved.

From what I’ve read elsewhere, the House Intelligence Committee, under the psychopathic Schiff and Swallswell, etc., never investigated the real/true origins of the Steele Dossier, an act of Omission/Commission/Dereliction of Duty, and Cover-Up by design.

If you don’t investigate it, in their corrupted minds, it doesn’t exist so that is why the RUSSIAN origins of the Steele Dossier’s three sources was not investigated, was viewed as not important if they knew about them, or was deliberately ignored as part of a larger corrupt coverup, including lying to the FISA court by DOJ/FBI applicants, Comey, Weissmann?, Strzok?, Yates?, etc.

I never trusted Brennan. I think he’s one of the main traitors in this whole Deep State Steele Dossier coup. Clapper is more like a half-blind, half-demented lap dog of Brennan and Comey. Comey thinks he’s Jesus reincarnated rather than a corrupt, egomaniac and blithering idiot.

I’d like to know who the CIA did investigate/interview for the whole affair? How about Mifsud, Halper, Greenburg (whoever he is), others who approached Page/Papadoplous, etc. Was Downer part of the scheme, a fool, or an honest diplomat who was used by all?

Who did the CIA contact in friendly intelligence forces, MI 5, MI 6, Italian Intelligence, Australian Intelligence/Diplomatic Intelligence, anyone in the Ukraine, Romania, etc?

And lastly, as I found out while questioning NVA senior officers (defectors), VC defectors, and NVA POWS in SVN and Cambodia, IF YOU DON’T ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS, YOU DON’T GET ANY ANSWERS THAT MIGHT HELP YOU. I did and got some answers about No. Vietnamese affairs, etc. that no one knew about (a historical event that could have marked the timeline for No. Vietnam to finalize its invasion of So. Vietnam in 1965.

As a result of those questions and answers, US intelligence learned about internal resistance in NVN and about how Hanoi (and probably Red China), was smuggling significantly pure heroin from Red China/NW NVN into So. Vietnam for use against our troops. Still classified to my knowledge.

I feel that the CIA/DNI/DOJ/FBI divisions and State Dept. Obamites/Clintonistas, created several “Deep State” operations, mainly based on the fake Steele Dossier but also based on the perjury traps of Page/Papa/Flynn that was a backup plan to create a fake investigation of the Trump campaign/staff, Transition team, esp. Flynn, and then of the Trump family re Russian contacts and collusion.

Grassley was not the strongest head of the Sen. Judiciary Committee. Burr as head of the Sen. Intell. Committee was a total loser. Hopefully this will be corrected or they can be ignored totally as useless fools.

The ones to watch are Nunes, Meadows, Jordan, and their staff. They know how to investigate, ask the right questions, and not let go until they get honest answers, not 5th Amendment clowns, the Hillary Clinton/Comey defense, “I don’t remember”, or evasion puffpieces.

Is this the DOJ-ODSW* or the DOJ-TPW**?

ODSW = Obama Deep State Wing

TPW = Trump Patriot Wing

Which DOJ wing is doing the interviewing?

Did the CIA leak everything they had on President Trump - (collected from foreign sources like Britain, Ukraine, Russia etc) to their shills at the Washington Post and New York Times?

What about the much vaunted ‘rule of law’ intelligence thugs and their boys in the press scream about - - when it can be applied to Trump?

Doesn't that apply to corrupt ‘journalists’ too? Or is this another ‘norm’ where if you jump up and down three times and say your mother's name backwards that you can skirt the law along with the other white trash ‘elites’ running Washington?

It’s funny how we seem to know more about what’s going on than the people at the FBI, the CIA and both houses of congress months and even years before they do. I think it is called ‘playing dumb’.
