We don’t need to be funny; we need to be convincing.
Conservatives have the BEST senses of humor. Thoughtful, interesting, based on truth and not hurtful.
Lefties, on the other hand, love T and A, sloppy, banal and downright mean.
For instance, I never realized sex was so funny (which it ain’t in reality) until I watched some of the crap sitcoms in the last fifteen years.

This is the purest case of political projection I have seen in a while.
Repubs are Ward Cleaver and Dims are Charlie Manson.

This brings us to the current contest between the field of sphincters who are touting who is the best sphincter of them all.They each claim to be the biggest sphincter in America.
America believes them, and has refused to vote for anything but President Trump’s comprehensive hemorrhoidectomy policies assisted by the anti-constipatory drug industry.

I did read the article and he seems to be under the mis-impression that the Left’s version of “humor” is funny - it’s not. It’s just hateful self-righteousness. The only genuine, sustained humor in the Western world today comes from what is called “alt-right”.

Somebody pointed out a while back that the late night shows like Letterman are mostly simulated humor. Lines are delivered with comic timing and the audience laughs on cue...but nothing funny is actually said. I’ve always equated this with Maoist Humor - personal insults delivered as if they were the funniest jokes in the world, followed by intense peer shaming if you don’t join in the laughter.
Republicans as a whole have a sense of humor, it is the “conservatives” who suck. Who in this forum thinks that Mittens Romney is funny?
Funny Republicans and patriots are hilarious on r/The_Donald and their memes sends the left into spasms of anger.

I think he was very clear that the left’s humor is not funny in the examples he used. The media push the line that the left’s humor is ‘hip’ while Republicans are not. That’s the point he was making.

The media can push that all they like but it’s the exact opposite of reality.
I can go to any number of alt-right sites and find uproarious humor all over the place - it’s relentless, really.
There’s no lefty equivalent, not on the talkshows, not at the grassroots.
I can’t even remember the last time a lefty intentionally said something that was genuinely humorous.

Well, actually, I did read the article and stand by my premise. The left derides, the leftist listeners bark and snort, not with jubilation but with contempt and hate.
When it comes to libs, ‘funny’ has nothing to do with it.
Gutfield is a libertarian (philosophy not party). He is a conservative leaning libertarian (some of them lean left).
And he is funny (although he offends a lot of “true” conservatives). He isn’t afraid to make a joke at his own expense.
I liked Red Eye when he was the host. The only problem was it aired at 3 am local time when most conservatives were asleep.
Kennedy is pretty funny too in a wacky way. Her humor isn’t for everyone but I like most of it.
