Nice point and yes I knew it was 44 but wrote 46. Missed that, also wrote their machine guns shot 450 rounds per minute when they actually shot 1200.
If I knew that I had forgotten; that is quite a machine delivery - Gatlin Gun style. Heat always presents a problem and I had come to think that that problem was overcome somewhat later. Amazing!
Eisenhower gets much credit for Normandy - the largest invasion in history; but it was brutal - much like charges in WWI. My heart nearly fails me when I think of it. God bless those brave soldiers and their surviving families! {I was one year old at the time.}
