US President Donald Trump announced via Twitter late Friday that a signed agreement has been reached with Mexico, and that the tariffs scheduled to go into effect on Monday have been suspended.
Just last week, Trump announced that a five percent tariff on all goods coming from Mexico would go into effect on June 10, and would gradually increase up to 25 percent until the illegal immigration problem was resolved.
The announcement launched a flurry of talks between officials from both countries, with reports that Mexico was willing to make some concessions.
Late Friday, Trump tweeted, I am pleased to inform you that The United States of America has reached a signed agreement with Mexico. The Tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday, against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended.
Trump via Twitter said that Mexico, has agreed to take strong measures to stem the tide of Migration through Mexico, and to our Southern Border. This is being done to greatly reduce, or eliminate, Illegal Immigration coming from Mexico and into the United States.
Trump said that details of the agreement will be released shortly by the State Department.

Chuck Grassley said Mexico came through yeah Chuck u and the ladies didnt. All of them in Congress are useless fuc*ing do nothings.
Amigo, are you forgetting the best feature of a really good threat? It's a renewable resource. If they don't dance, he can always slap on the tariff. I'm sure he expects them to stall and squirm at first. In negotiations, I don't get the feeling this is Trump's first rodeo.
Trust DJT
And for RINOs and deep state.
RO DAY O
BEST PRESIDENT EVER!!!!
The feckless GOP better wake the F up, and get on board with Trump!
This is Trump’s party now, whether they like it or not!!
They’ve screwed him, and us long enough!!!
“The capitulation caucus can fret about something else now.”
So true.
Trump’s actions make me think of an old song.
Has the phrase “once there was a silly old ram.
thought he’d punch a hole in a dam...”
Avocados are high in fiber. I’m relieved.
Sorry. I think we’re at the point of an ultimatum. We get a hundred thousand a month that they admit to coming in it’s probably double that. We’re getting a few million Mexicans and Guatemalans and Hondurans and Salvadorans every year. Time for an absolute cessation of the flood across the border, not another promise.
It is almost certain that Trump doesn't either.
Hopefully, the deal includes Mexico policing its northern border, and that performance should be easy to verify,
Wonder what the record is for those that renege in plain view of the entire world on a deal with the deal maker?
Exactly, a greater toofer!
He must trust them. He gave them what they wanted in exchange for a promise. We should have stuck a tariff on them until we saw the results.
And actually, for some insane reason they put Pence as the point man on this. So what we’re saying is how an open borders vice president does things.
Ro-day-dayo-
day-dayo-
day-dayo-
day-dayo-
day-day-ay-ay-oh!
Daylight come, and we send them all home!
Well, whats the measure of success? What has to happen to keep the tariffs off? Do we have monitors at the border?

Exactly my thinking. Why a Friday night? If legit, this essentially means illegal immigration is over so why not scream it from the rooftops in a Monday morning press conference?
This will cost Trump a lot of votes if there is not a serious, quantifiable reduction in illegal crossings. Chuck Schumer said Trump was bluffing the other day. Trump better not make an idiot like that look good. I hate the Friday night announcement.
Yeah, that’s it. Thanks!

People judst don’t try these days.,
I think Rush reported today that Mexico had arrested two honchos who have been organizing caravans to the U.S. Also, that they had frozen the assets of some organizations who have been funding the caravans. Hope someone can verify that I understood this correctly.
