As for running for the office of the president. There already are requirements as far as age citizenship requirements, aren’t here not?

There is no check on eligibility aside from a working press corp. The only thing that can stop an ineligible person from being elected is a challenge, or written objection to be specific by at least one member of each house, at time of electoral counting. That process is so late in the game that no one would even think of attempting it. Can you imagine what would of happened if Obama was challenged at the electoral college?

But there are no presidential elections, no conventions, no "running", no nominations, no primaries in the US Constitution.
The choice of the President and Vice President is left up to 50 State Legislatures, acting independently of each other, using whatever methods they choose (except the 3 electoral votes Congress awarded itself in 1960).
