Conservatives spark threat of bloody GOP primaries

Senate Republicans are facing a potential intraparty brawl as they fight to hold onto the chamber next year.

Republicans are defending 22 seats in 2020, mostly in deep-red states, limiting Democrats’ pickup opportunities and increasing the odds of the GOP keeping the Senate.

But nasty primary fights brewing in a handful of key states could threaten to throw a curveball into the Republican strategy, potentially setting the party up for a repeat of previous cycles when conservatives caused headaches by defeating more-mainstream GOP candidates, only to lose to Democrats in November.

Three races have jumped into the spotlight as looming problem areas for Republicans: In Alabama and Kansas, where conservatives Roy Moore and Kris Kobach are flirting with Senate bids, and in North Carolina, where Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C) is viewed as vulnerable to a primary challenge.

“There are still Republicans … who are upset that we gave away Senate seats in Nevada, Missouri and Indiana that were right there for the taking,” said Doug Heye, a former Republican National Committee spokesman. “So I think folks here [in Washington] are very mindful of that.”

Here we go again. It's 2014 all over again.

No real conservatives allowed in the Senate!!

Only the Thom Tillis's of the world will be allowed. Only the Mitt Romney's, the Ben Sasse's, the Lamar Alexander's, the Corey Gardner's, etc.

Newsflash! John McCain is dead, dead, dead!

And we've seen the open duplicity of Lisa Murkowski, Bob Corker and Jeff Flake.

Oh, and Trump won over Jeb!

Times have changed, Mitch!

"Times have changed, Mitch! "

No, the more things change, the more they stay the same. The globalist cabal controls the US government. Trump's populism will simply be waited out if it cannot be removed.

The problem I see is that states are bitterly divided by red/blue areas of the state.

What that does is assure that the fire-breathers will win the primaries and then face a electorate it half the state that truly hates their guts.

Michigan is like that, the red areas are dark red and they cover most of the states. The blue areas are as blue as San Fran Sissyco and at least half the state lives there.

A candidate from Hillsdale won’t find much love in Ann Arbor and Detoilet, and the liberal candidates never venture far from the big cites for fear of being stranded behind enemy lines.

But if it isn’t “Our Country” any longer it really can’t be considered “The USA” anymore, can it?

I don’t see me supporting the Globalist Oligarch Party (GOP) post Trump. Total economic collapse cannot come soon enough.

Working class Americans (the hated wage earners) have no political party. As such they will gravitated towards DEM socialism and reject the “Cheap Labor Express” GOP every time.

The GOP has learned nothing from Trump’s election. They think they can just wait out the “celebrity President”.

I find it astounding people even care about “politics” at this juncture. As if there was a “political” solution to be found. We really are at the point at which only violence will determine our future. Best productively use our time to prepare because IMHO seeking a political solution is a waste of not only effort but precious time. If the power of the government can be used as it has been against us why are we still giving it any legitimacy?

Trump is already trying to push out Moore. Talk of Gaetz moving from the panhandle to run, but that seems risky to me too.

Maybe the United Corporate States of America. America is supposedly a meritocracy. Now all animals are equal but some are more equal

“They” really have turned America into just a large corporate headquarters mall but the fault is ours for letting “them” do it.

The GOP is run by the globalist “investor” class that is in the pocket of Wall Street and is not going to attract working Americans in the number they need for a majority. The GOP product/brand is just not that good, it stinks actually. They will never have a majority post Trump unless they become a workers party which will never happen. This is how you get a Socialist President.

Nope!

Grass Roots is going to kick butt to reign in or replace the marginal Trump supporters.

Watch Colorado as we pressure Cory Gardner to get fully behind Trump or be left to lose to Hickenlooper.
