What do all the “people of color” who live in single family houses think about this?
You are kidding, right? You can’t be that ignorant.
This is pure communism, turning us all into
No zoning is about giving the government power over your property.
If they want they can change the zoning on a adjacent property with a vote.
Thus you lose any protection you thought you had.
“They rally for free range chickens, but put people in coops.”
Yes. Well put.
Wait until the demonkrats get their hands on the census results. We have a large home we got a deal on. But, there are only two of us living here. Surely there’s room for a couple “immigrants” .
Everything LIB lunatics disagree with is “racist” so who gives a rat’s a**???
Our home is not only diversified but species friendly. Dogs and cats of all colors and backgrounds.
Over the past 35 years I’ve owned two homes,
paid mountains in
interest,
insurance,
maintenance (+sweat equity) and
property taxes.
As far as I can tell, home ownership is
one big liability and it is the absolute
worst way to live with the exception of
every other option available anywhere.

wAAAAAAIT A MINUTE! What next? Will a married couple living in a 3 BR home be required to take in an illegal emigrant family of 3? s/
They can override zoning - and as a result, few people see a home as a worthwhile place to park 360 monthly payments anymore.
Without zoning, it would be even dumber to make that commitment.
I don’t think they disagree with it on principle; they just know that puts the taxes of those homeowners out of the reach of gibsmedats, plain & simple.
They are winning all of their battles very late in the game; they’ve kept abortion legal at a point where many white women can’t find anyone to impregnate them with a baby to kill, they’ve legalized “gay marriage” across the nation at a time when few normals even bother marrying anymore, and now they’re replacing older single-family homes with multi-families at a point when few normals even want to buy a home anymore.
That’s a good point, but I’ve also said for years that “suburbia” is a distinctly American concept that is rooted in a post-WW2 economic anomaly combined with undeniably socialist programs like the Interstate Highway Act and the G.I. Bill.
They are trying to impliment agenda 21, now called agenda 30, one tiny bit at a time. They do it with regs, taxes, fees, etc. Here in Ca the costs of building are rediculous from the building permit on up. Now all new homes must have solar panels too. Just to show the hypocracy of the libs, I live in a private suburban {rural} community full of LIBERALS.....they don’t dare mix with or have their kids go to school with the commoners in the city,
I'm not sure I agree with that. You should probably go back even further, and say: "Public services and infrastructure were the start of the loss of our property rights."
THOSE things pretty much made zoning a necessity.
Yep. Changing the rules mid way is freedom. That million dollar neighborhood gets a section 8 apartment in the last 10 lots - boom million dollar homes become 100k homes. Its freedom for all.
The value of owning free and clear a modest home on 15 acres out in the country 10 miles from town is becoming clearer.
Thank you Lord.
Lol!
Bro you’re crazy!
No wonder I’ve taken a liking to ya :)
Though my taking a liking isn’t worth much.
That and 19 dollars will get you across the verrazano bridge :)
I don't know where you live, but it doesn't work that way in the state where I live.
Once an area is zoned, it's almost impossible to change the zoning on a parcel-by-parcel basis. Property owners can be given variances that allow them to deviate from the zoning requirements for a legitimate reason, but a change in zoning would alter the entire neighborhood rather than just the property next door.
I have a real estate developer in my local Chamber of Commerce who gave a presentation a few months ago about an interesting lesson he and some town governments have learned over the last few years.
He built a residential development with a sizable number of "affordable" apartments ("affordable" under state law, not Section 8). The town where the project was built basically forced it on him to get the approvals.
Previously, the conventional wisdom was that nobody would want to pay $4,000/month for a luxury two-bedroom apartment in a development where welfarians were paying $1,500/month for three-bedroom units that comprised 15% or 20% of the units in the complex. It actually turned out the other way around, where none of the welfarians wanted to live there -- because even though the rent was low, they found it totally demoralizing to park their 12 year-old minivan in a parking lot filled with mostly luxury cars and SUVs no more than a couple of years old.
Go figure. LOL.
