WTF does de-escalate mean?
It escalated when a guy carrying a potentially very dangerous object entered the place with intent to rob!!

It's easy to talk about de-escalating when you work in an office or cubicle with a security staff and nothing to steal.

WTF does de-escalate mean? If somebody gives you an answer are you going to get mad about it?

De-escalation is not appropriate when you are faced with deadly force.

I think they mean de-escalating the robbery by catching the robbers hatchet with your face. There is no more conflict after that happens.
