He thinks its a stupid thing to do, but it strikes us as pretty bold, and cool: Harry Read, 95, will parachute into Normandy next month just as he did 75 years ago.
On June 6, 1944, Read, then a 20-year-old wireless operator in the British 6th Airborne Division, first landed on the battlefields of northern France.
This time, hell do a tandem jump with the Red Devils Parachute Display Team. He says that when he boards the Dakota aircraft again, he will go straight to seat 12, where he sat on that day so many years ago.
