I do a bunch of subcontracting on government construction projects. They are always looking for minorities to fulfill quotas required by the contract and I get shut out frequently.

I now identify as a black woman, possibly a lesbian.

I had a student whose dad was a black American M.D. and mom was from Malaysia. Looked a lot like Tiger Woods. Very smart kid. I asked what race he was going to tic off on his college application. He looked at me as if I were nuts for asking the question, “Black, of course” was his answer. Black lowers the requirements for entrance while Asian raises them. Ironic in that his black dad was a lot more responsible for his upper middle class existence than his Malaysian mom.

I guess we could all say "Mixed Race" I think we are all mostly mixed race if we go back far enough. This way you wouldn't be lying. Just don't put down white or Caucasian.
