Can someone enlighten me on the duties of a US Naval Reserve Intelligence Officer in Afghanistan, hundreds of miles from open water? I’ll stipulate that just being there is dangerous, especially for the openly gay. But was he leading combat patrols or working in an office? From the hagiography on Wikipedia, B. is no dummy, is very ambitious, and has been building his political narrative for most of his life. Was his naval unit deployed as a group, or did he arrange for a tour in Afghanistan as a resume enhancer?
The left just want a gay POTUS and gay couple in the WH. To them his “gayness” is his qualification. For the rest of the country...not so much.
I don’t think he has a chance, I don’t see a compelling message. That may be fine in the D primaries for regressives but not a national election for POTUS.
That said, the left can’t help themselves, I’d have no problem if they made him their candidate.
