I agree...just like the Bay of Pigs.

On the other hand, they may have gotten faulty intelligence. The whole thing may have been a set up by Maduro to flush out the opposition. For example, the Supreme Court had supposedly pledged to support Guaido...but when the time came, silence. Was that set up in advance by a judge secretly working for Maduro?

Venezuela is not yet a police state or closed society. It doesn’t take much brain to gather reliable intelligence by simply talking to the people.
The public opinion is that socialism is ok but the troubles are the result of US sanctions and plain sabotage by US agents.
Guaido is an obvious traitor in their eyes as one of US agents.
There are people who think differently but they have already emigrated for the most part.
The idea that the opposition has public support or Guaidó was elected are the same lies used to justify involvement in way too many similar quagmires.
What make people believe the standard lies are truth this time?
