Hunter Biden invested in a surveillance system used to spy on Muslims in China. Hunter’s investments are drawing scrutiny amid a controversy over his father’s dismissive remarks about the potential threats China poses to the US. According to the Intercept, Hunter’s investment company in China, Bohai Harvest RST, invested in Face++, a mobile phone app built by the Chinese government to introduce a mass surveillance state and spy on its citizens. The application has been used to spy on Muslims in China’s western province of Xinjiang, where an estimated million Muslims are held in “re-education” camps, providing authorities access to data that shows personal information such as their religious activity, blood type and usage of utilities.

The Biden company also consists of a network of other funds that make other investments, making Hunter Biden an influential businessman in China, according to the outlet, which somewhat explains Bohai Harvest’s dependence on an international subsidiary of the state-owned Bank of China to finance its investments.

Joe Biden caught flak after expressing lack of concern over China as a global competitor to the U.S. and mocked those taking the Chinese threat seriously at a rally on Wednesday. “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man!” Biden exclaimed. “The fact that they have this great division between the China Sea and the mountains in the East -- I mean in the West. They can't figure out how they're going to deal with the corruption that exists within the system. They're not bad folks, folks. But guess what, they're not competition for us.”

President Trump said Biden was among many politicians who were “naïve” regarding China. “For somebody to be so naive, and say China's not a problem – if Biden actually said that, that's a very dumb statement,” Trump said.

This highlights, at least for me, why the reason given in recent weeks for not selling the parent company of Grinder to the ChiComs was completely bogus. There was no special technology in a social app that the ChiComs cannot come up with on their own; but, it was once again about the ability of homosexuals in government to be blackmailed. But they couldn’t say the presence of poofters was the real problem so they made up something about technology instead.

Two years after leaving office, Joe Biden couldn’t resist the temptation last year to brag to an audience of foreign policy specialists about the time as vice president that he strong-armed Ukraine into firing its top prosecutor.

CAUGHT ON TAPE In his own words, with video cameras rolling, Biden described how he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Biden recalled telling Poroshenko. “Well, son of a bitch, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time,” Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations event, insisting that then-President Obama was in on the threat.

Vintage Biden clip resurfaces showing him falsely claiming he was in ‘top half of my class’ in law school

A 1987 clip of Joe Biden has resurfaced, showing him exaggerating his academic record, boasting that he graduated “in the top half of my class” – before he later admitted that he graduated 76th in a class of 85.

The former vice president, who’s currently the leading 2020 presidential candidate, was running back then for the Democratic Party’s nomination for president when he got combative and made the blunder amid questioning by a reporter about his academic credentials at the Syracuse University College of Law.

“I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do I suspect. I went to law school on a full academic scholarship, the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship,” he told the reporter during a campaign stop in Claremont, New Hampshire.

“In the first year of the law school, I decided I didn’t want to be in law school and ended up in the bottom two-thirds of my class,” he continued. “And then I decided to stay, went back to law school, and in fact ended up in the top half of my class.”

He added that he was an “outstanding student in the political science department” and “graduated with three degrees from college.”

Shortly after making the claims, Biden had to come out with a confession that he lied about his academic record and actually graduated 76th in a class of 85.

“I did not graduate in the top half of my class at law school and my recollection of this was inaccurate,” he told the New York Times in a statement.

“I graduated from the University of Delaware with a double major in history and political science. My reference to degrees at the Claremont event was intended to refer to these majors – I said ‘three’ and should have said ‘two,’” he added, though the newspaper points out that Biden actually received a single B.A. degree in history and political science.

During an interview with the Times, he also didn’t dispute the reports that he actually went on the law school “on half scholarship based on financial need” rather than full scholarship as he claimed.

“My recollection is – and I’d have to confirm this – but I don’t recall paying any money to go to law school,” he said.

Biden’s 1988 run for Democratic nomination for president ended shortly after the controversy, which also included accusations of plagiarism in his academic work and campaign speeches.

During his 36 years in the Senate, Joe Biden helped craft some of the strictest anti-drug laws of the 1980s and 1990s. But drug reform advocates say his own children were able to avoid the brunt of these laws because they were white and wealthy.

The 76-year-old former vice president’s daughter Ashley, now 37, was arrested for marijuana possession at age 17. Records show the prosecutor declined to pursue the charges. A decade later, a “friend” of Ashley Biden attempted to sell the New York Post a 43-minute hidden-camera video purportedly showing Ashley snorting cocaine. The police did not get involved.

Biden’s son Hunter, now 49, joined the Navy Reserves in 2012 after receiving two special waivers, one because he was three years over the age limit of 40 and another for a “drug-related incident when he was a young man.” A month into his service, he tested positive for cocaine during a random drug test and was discharged.

In 2017 divorce papers, Hunter Biden’s then-wife Kathleen stated he spent “extravagantly on his own interests (including drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, strip clubs, and gifts for women with whom he has sexual relations).” The same year, it emerged that Hunter Biden was in a relationship with his late brother Beau’s widow, Hallie. Hunter Biden separated from Kathleen five months after Beau’s death from brain cancer at age 46 in May 2015.
