This sort of a recrimination ("he is a socialist", "he has Marxist ideas", etc.) lost its potency about 30 years ago. Today, the de-facto center of gravity of intellectual life is global socialism with neo-Marxist underpinnings, having established itself as the preeminent academic doctrine since the 1970s.

Accusing anyone of holding such views is like accusing a Christian of believing in the resurrection.
