Herman Cain Intends to Stay in Contention for Fed

Herman Cain said Wednesday he is "very committed" to being vetted for a seat on the Federal Reserve board and he does not plan to withdraw his name from consideration, even though he may not have enough support in the Senate to confirm him if he's nominated.

“I don’t quit because of negative criticism,” Cain, a former presidential candidate and restaurant entrepreneur, told The Wall Street Journal. "I don’t quit because of negative attacks. And I don’t quit because several senators have expressed reservations about my qualifications.”

Further, Cain said he believes "new voices" are needed on the Fed.

Four Republican senators have said they will not support Cain because of ongoing concerns about sexual-harassment allegations, which he has denied, and because of concerns about his activism as a conservative.

Cain said President Donald Trump's top economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, called him in January to invite him to the White House to speak with Trump about the Fed. He spoke first with Kudlow and acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, before later meeting with Trump and Kudlow in the Oval Office. On April 4, Trump announced he wanted Cain.

It Will never happen. The Dems are afraid of Herman and always have been. They won’t go toe to toe with him in a confirmation hearing. They are already concerned about the AA vote. They won’t risk it.They are learning from their burn marks.

He hasn’t been formally nominated so there’s nothing really for him to withdraw his name from. But I doubt he’ll be on the Fed board.

His problem is not the Dims. It’s the usual assortment of jelly spined RINO Republicans.

Good, Cain should stay and not give the Dems or the weak, spineless Repubs a victory. Three of the four Repubs who said they wouldn’t vote for him never met him or know anything about his qualifications. The fourth, from ND stated concern about the sex harassment claims that came up during his presidential run. Funny how all those accusations suddenly disappeared after Cain withdrew from the presidential race. If they were true, why were they not pursued by the claimants? Just shows they were fake and brought up to force him out of the race. I”m so damn tired of these spineless Repubs. Repubs lack the character and are too weak to stand up and fight. Pathetic.

The Dems? So are the Republicans. I think Cain would’ve made one helluva president, but the Dems - with the complicity of the Republican “leadership” (I’m starting to hate that word), pulled a prototype Kavanaugh on him. Of course, all his accusers crawled back into their homes of ooze once his candidacy was destroyed...

He was the Pre-Trump- a businessman who had actually created jobs, had to stay within budgets and meet deadlines. They hated him for the same reason they hate President Trump- he’s not one of THEM!

They hate Herman even more because his success proves the system is not inherently racist and any person can achieve success by working hard and smart.
