Fox anchor Shepard Smith on Monday melted down when a French guest attempted to explain the ongoing attacks, violence and vandalism against French churches. Talking about the fire engulfing Notre Dame, where the cause is unknown, guest Philippe Karsenty began, For the past years, we've had churches desecrated each and every week all over France.
Just seconds after his guest was introduced, Smith immediately jumped in and reprimanded, Sir, sir, sir, we're not going to speculate of the cause of something that we don't know! If you have observations or you know something, we would love to hear it. After Karsenty attempted to respond, Smith shut down the whole interview: No, sir. Were not doing that here. Not now. Not on my watch! Philippe Karsenty, its very good of you to be here.
Twenty minutes later, Smith came back to concede the point about violence against French Christians, allowing, There have been a number of attacks on Catholic churches in the Paris area. But those two things [the Notre Dame fire and past incidents], we are not connecting at this moment.
Newsweek reported on March 21, 2019:
Vandals have smashed statues, knocked down tabernacles, scattered or destroyed the Eucharist and torn down crosses, sparking fears of a rise in anti-Catholic sentiment in the country.
Last Sunday, the historic Church of St. Sulpice in Paris was set on fire just after midday mass on Sunday, Le Parisien reported, although no one was injured. Police are still investigating the attack, which firefighters have confidently attributed to arson.
The website Churchpop.com noted,
Since early February, vandals desecrated more than a dozen Catholic Churches throughout France. Theyve looted, burned, destroyed statues, threw consecrated hosts all over the floors, and marked a cross on the wall with human feces.
The Washington Post on April 2 reported: "Among attacks on churches in February, a cross of human excrement was found in the southern city of Nimes, a statue of Mary was smashed in a Paris suburb and a statue of Jesus decapitated...
Of course, that doesnt mean, in any way, thats what is happening in Paris. And people shouldnt recklessly speculate. But neither should Smith decide a guest is unlistenable simply because he tries to inform an American audience about what's going on in France.
Its not as though Smith himself hasn't speculated. In 2017, he became unhinged while discussing the Russia investigation. In 2015, he yelled at a fellow Fox host during a discussion of riots in Baltimore.

Perfect demolition.
Seriously- people are horrified when I say that we should have killed every man woman and child in Germany at the end of the war and turned that place into Disneyland East.
Your choice.
And now they’re interviewing that phony plant, Dolan.
Did you even read my post? I think I made “why not” pretty clear.
not really
Cowards, one and all.
We know damn well who is doing it, but are too afraid to say it. The west is truly doomed.
Had the construction project not been underway, that would have to be at the top of the list. But a construction accident must be ruled out first.
Bomber Harris needn’t be concerned.
The first part of your sentence was correct.
The Saudi royals are heavily invested in Fox... and it shows.
Ayn got a lot of other things right.
I wonder if Newsweak, and all the other Newsweak in the leftist media asylum, will take down this and other stories about attacks on French churches. Maybe tomorrow this and other stories will be gone.
From the article: “Last Sunday, the historic Church of St. Sulpice in Paris was set on fire just after midday mass on Sunday, Le Parisien reported, although no one was injured. Police are still investigating the attack, which firefighters have confidently attributed to arson.”
Note that the fire at St. Sulpice in PARIS just last week was set on fire right after midday mass had ended, and the parishioners had left. Now, notice that the fire in Notre Dame Cathedral began approximately 5-6 minutes after the Cathedral had closed for the day and most tourists and religious folks were no longer inside it. Coincidence? I think not.
The timing of the fire, starting just after the Cathedral had closed its doors for the day, to me is highly suspicious and indicates to me a human source for the conflagration, in a city and country that has had nothing but attacks against Christian Catholic entities within it virtually nonstop for many months and now years of late.
To me, arson would be my very first thought as to what has happened here, not like on Fox Sucks News and the rest of the media cable channels that have shut down freedom of speculation that is based on other recent and actual incidents and attacks on Christians occurring in France up to this very moment. Did I say that Fox Cable News sucks? It bears repeating.
Hed be a great fluffer!
I don’t know who that is but it doesn’t sound pleasant.
No, that is not the only reason.
It is a good practice to shut down such a discussion until the evidence is available to support such a claim.
The fire could have been caused by a careless worker.
Or a careless tourist.
Or faulty wiring.
