I go back and forth on Joe Biden’s chances at the Democratic nomination. On the one hand, we’ve seen him run two primary campaigns, and they both ended badly. Moreover, given the hard left turn of the much of the modern Democratic party, he could find himself constantly on the defensive about his long record in Washington. He voted for the Iraq War. His past tough-on-crime past could haunt him. And he’s got that embarrassing sniffing/kissing/hugging habit.
But on the other hand, what if the universal, hard left turn by virtually every other candidate opens up a center-left superhighway to the nomination? Most of the other candidates are vying for the attention and love of the Online Left, but there’s an entire other Democratic party out there — the majority of the party that doesn’t live on social media. Over at the New York Times, Nate Cohn and Kevin Quealy have put together a fascinating interactive piece that separates the Democratic electorate into two large groups, Democrats on social media and Democrats off social media. It begins like this:

The republicans had to choke on their terrible candidates because of electability. I think the tables have turned and now the Democrats have the electability problem.
Two things that I find interesting:
1) No one is polling Hillary, either against other Dems or against Trump.
2) There are no hit pieces on Hillary.
“But she said she’s not running” you think. Well, she’s not, technically...not until she files papers.
Consider what happened a few weeks ago when Hillary actually said “I’m not running”. The media re-wrote that statement to say that “Hillary rules out running in 2020”. The IMMEDIATE response from her staff was “No, she didn’t say that, at least not yet”.
With the Clintons one must parse EVERY WORD. I think she’s feeding the media hit pieces on the other candidates (after all when was the last time that the media actually went after a Democrat on their own?)...and then when every leading candidate is mortally wounded - HILLARY TO THE RESCUE!!!

If Uncle Joe tries to get into this race he is really, really going to regret that decision.

You’re right. I’m glad I experienced the sense of humor from that time period. Give me a Bob Hope or Abbott & Costello comedy anytime. There is definitely a lack of real humor today. In this day and age, the left gets their laughs from physically, and verbally attacking those they perceive as their political enemies. They can’t even laugh at themselves.
Trump wasn’t running against a sitting President with an excellent economy. Biden is no Trump, in case you hadn’t noticed.
Primaries are all about picking Democrats. They had candidates better than Joe then. They don’t now. In my opinion, which is all we have here on FFR, he’s the best they have to run in a general election where Joe’s image will work against Trump, even with the hugging history, which I think is being aired now so it’s old by the time 2020 rolls around.
My fear is the VP candidate because there’s a high probability that old Joe won’t make it through his term and that his VP gets in. She’s probably running now and they are all scary.
What if the Dems aren’t actually fielding these candidates to win against Trump....that they don’t expect to win.

Biden is the “make us feel better and safe” candidate of the hour for those still reeling from the Hillary loss. Add to it he served along side their hero Obama......So Bidens like a pacifier to calm their voters.
Let’s see, the Governor of Virginia, once famous for wearing Blackface and promoting the Murder of Newborns is still in Office. Haven’t heard much about him in weeks.

Groping Joe Biden, or is it Pedo Joe Biden, is a contender for the Democrat Nomination for POTUS. His years of molesting Women and Female Children means nothing to Democrats.
