New York lawmakers on Tuesday refused to advance a bill that would have provided free college tuition to the families of military personnel from the state who were killed in the line of duty.
The Assembly’s Higher Education Committee voted 15 to 11 to hold the bipartisan bill, effectively ending its chances of making it to a floor vote this session.
The move comes a week after lawmakers passed a $175 billion state budget that included $27 million to provide college tuition aid for undocumented immigrants.

Does the NY Assembly realize that most of the illegal immigrants have neither the education nor IQ to even qualify for the military for which they have so much disdain? Well, they probably do, educating intelligent people is a very dangerous undertaking.
NY State prison inmates were able to get a college degree up until George Pataki became Governor. He eliminated that program, but I know it is one of Andy Pandy Cuomo's desires to bring it back. Problem is, the intellectual ability of the convicts in NY's prisons today, isn't anything like it was when the original program was running. I started working at Auburn Prison in 1980, and the program was running then. How about a college degree from Syracuse? That's what was available to them back then.
It's free reign for Democrats in Albany since they control both chambers of the Legislature. They'll do their utmost to destroy the rest of the State as soon as they can.

There should be $0 budgeted for “undocumented immigrants” because they aren’t supposed to be here in the first place. And the legislature just pissed on the graves of dead soldiers.

Most homeowners on Long Island are paying 15 to 30 k per year in property tax. Why do they put up with this.
