I wish that were so, but I keep hearing and reading the exact opposite type of stories. Texans saying they have never seen such a heavy, steady flow of illegals before now.
Sadly, I don’t believe the Mexicans a single bit — I’ll believe it when the border invasion slows to a trickle. If THAT doesn’t happen, President Trump really needs to close the border to all but commercial trucking vehicles — and NOT A YEAR FROM NOW, a year of UNCHECKED continuous invasion.

He should have given Mexico one month to greatly reduce the number allowed across their southern border. That’s plenty of time to know if they have made serious attempts to accomplish that.
There better be some measurements of results long before a year is up, and some serious countermeasures if Mexico is not doing what they have said.

That is a problem. Trump is the best we’ve got. But, saying one week and then blowing it off in a few days doesn’t seem like good strategy to me, irregardless.

My understanding on this is the border will
be closed next week if Mexico doesn’t attempt
to stop the flow of illegals, and has issued
a second ultimatum of imposing tarrifs on
autos if Mexico can’t control the flood of
drugs, and has given them a year to identify
and detain the drug dealers. I also believe
the national emergency is still in effect.
