Nearly all of them came through POE’s or areas immediately adjacent to them. I see you’re in SoCal. Have you ever been to the AZ or NM desert? Crossing there is not easy. Besides there’s not likely to be a BP guy to surrender to and claim asylum. They know if they sneak past the BP and do not make their claim upon entry, they can be kicked out much more easily.

I spent ten years on the AZ border and crossing there is as easy as stepping over a strand of barbed wire. It is especially easy now, as there are Mexican busses hired by traffickers that will take you to within a few miles or less of the border, far far way from any manned outposts of the government.
