Definitely got into the wrong car. Definitely grew up in a culture that was incapable of telling her that was the wrong car.
Chainsaw/torniquete/patience.
Apparently even the right car can be the wrong car with Uber:
Mayanja is a Ugandan name and there is a significant Ugandan population in Waltham.
Yep, not alone, especially late, or more than mildly buzzed on any outing.
Simple precautions.
I am reading The Gift of Fear now as a matter of fact.
The other day my friend, a guy, said his uber was accross the lot but another uber tried to pick hin up. He had to run across tbe lot to show the other uber driver the picture on his phone...and until he said is this you to the driver, the other person did not come out of the uber. Duh to the other 2 Uber drivers and the other passenger!
I remember you saying this before, that’s quite alarming.
I hope you were carrying and do carry at all times.
My oldest daughter turns 13 tomorrow, she’s a beautiful girl. She concerns me a lot, but I hope some things I’ve taught her stick in her head.
Today, American streets are unsafe. When lawlessness gets worse, Americans will be unsafe in their homes.
This is part of the decadence of Western Civilization in America.
Half of America is awake, and they have a powerfully puissant and intelligent champion, President Donald Trump. He believes that the suicidal decadence can be halted and reversed before it destroys America.
He will certainly prevail, witness:
President Trump's defeat of all the contenders in the Republican Presidential Primaries,
President Trump's defeat of Hillary even though the election was rigged in her favor,
President Trump's defeat of the conspirators who attempted to annul the 2016 Presidential Election and stage a coup d'état in the USA,
ET AL.
However President Trump needs the support of the American People!
Rope. Tree. Bleach.
Well, this is what 21 year-olds do; I thought her friends were with her when she got in the car (I believe there were witnesses). As for why people aren’t the designated driver, they don’t enjoy the escapism alcohol provides.
Scary stuff!
In the army, I was quite popular because I would drive. I was never a big drinker, and don’t need to drink for a good time, so the boys all relied on me to get back to base.
Yeah my friend is pretty smart and has eagle eye sight finding the correct black car at night in a train station. You can see how these Uber mix ups happen.
I’ve never used them, but could see how I might do something like that after leaving a bar - seriously.
My brother and I could take a bus, from Rutherford, NJ, to NY City, take the subway to Brooklyn, see a Dodger game, have a hot dog and a coke and return for $5.00 each. There was only a slight concern for our safety because we minded our own business, avoiding nefarious creatures, on the way.
I agree. The only problem is have with de Becker is his distaste for firearms. If this woman had been carrying a pistol (legal in SC with a permit), she might be alive today, and this scum might be dead instead.
I dont know if the engineering school would be called liberal
Agree, not the deans at those disciplines but quite often the Chancellor and Board are.
“I would add that she noticed that the driver was a black guy but decided that she didn’t want to be thought of as a racist and got into the car anyway.”
In fact, if she had refused the ride after seeing the drive, and the ride was legit, there’s a damn good chance that the Leftists at Uber would have reported her in some way, and if that report made it back to her university - she would be EXPELLED.
And easy move for Uber would be to allow women the option of only accepting female drivers...wouldn’t guarantee their safety (obviously), but it would make it much tougher for animals like this guy to get women in their cars (and it would free up a lot of male drivers for us guys).
___________
I hope you are right.
Sure, but I doubt it has much of an impact. It is hard to sway engineering students with BS. The only people listening would be the affirmative action tokens that aren’t going to be passing any engineering certification tests after graduation anyway. As in all other fields, regardless of the meaningless “free” degree, they end up as professional victims, nothing else.
