Thank you for posting that! Years ago I was helping my daughter with a report about the Kitty Genovese story. The school was trying to push the idea of how “nobody wanted to get involved”.

With my little bit of research my daughter wrote a different report than what the teacher was expecting.

I think the schools (and the media) built that story in that regular people aren’t reliable and upstanding and will look away. And only the police and government can be relied upon to uphold society.

But in reality - it was the opposite.

Although today it does seem that lots of crap gets posted on Youtube and I think “Put the phone down and HELP!”

I also think the media loved that story as a way to slam ordinary Americans and push for more government control. The media has been more than incompetent, they are are a propaganda machine.

I put up a Road Rage Bully beating up my 13 yr old G. Nephew on Youtube, they said it didn’t meet Community standards and pulled it after 24 hrs. Gavin has the worst form of Duchenes MD, he is a Special Needs student as he has little control over his tongue muscles. And is slowly losing the use of his muscles. The Adult Neurologist won’t treat him, won’t give him Disability until he can’t raise his arms over his head, or the Protections of being a Disabled Student would get. As he is Early onset his life span is 20-35. First his muscles, then his organs shut down.

The bus driver did Nothing to stop the Bully who was twice Gavin’s size. All Gavin could do was try to protect his face, still got a black eye. principal gave the bully 3 days in school suspension. FB pulled the Video too same reason his mom and I put up, his mom who is suffering from multiple health issues and walks with a brace from 2 botched knee surgeries, was suffering from a severe Concussion and couldn’t drive or barely sit up. She finally got someone to take her to the Police station to file assault charges, all the Bully got out of it was 5 days out of school suspension. He’s back in school and on the bus. NO justice

I’ll go ahead and disagree then, because I’m disagreeable...

There are certainly places and pockets of population where civilization of any kind is dead. On the other hand, there are places still, here in the good old US of A, where that kind of behavior will get you killed.

I wouldn’t try beating a 78 year old woman in Mississippi, north of Jackson.

I certainly agree that such behavior is regional. I certainly would intervene, as would anyone I know. What I see, however, is those pockets of Medieval Times seem to be spreading. Liberal brain rot is spreading for various reasons, and that seems to be largely unchecked. So much of crap that comes out of the legislature and the courts foster the destruction of civilization. Conservatives do not seem to working very hard to block and reverse the trends. There are no recalls of congresscritters, no banging of pots in the streets, no phone calls, no letters, nothing.

Until good people do something, this horror will spread. It grieves me to see what passes for normal behavior.

How do you see this trend to be reversed?

Where things like this are allowed, I don’t believe that it can be rolled back.

Where things like this don’t happen, we’re quietly raising another generation of no- bullshit kids.yes, they’re tech savvy and maybe they don’t hold the same practical outlook of my generation... But there are still some lines that you don’t cross. How the borders will be drawn and defended isn’t something I have an opinion on... But I’m convinced that the two segments of our society cannot continue to live side by side for much longer.

They have the momentum now. “We” have a certain stubbornness that won’t yield.

Growing up in the Bronx, we used to "insult" one another all the time (many times including nationalities) and no one ever took it seriously. What a difference today.

For what it's worth; NY media is reporting that the perp (Marc Gomez)was apprehended and charged after the police were tipped off by someone who knows this low-life.

Not only did no one intervene to stop the attack, but the attacker actually gloated about it on video after the attack as if he accomplished something. Some people are beyond rehabilitation and are sociopathic to the point of needing to be removed from civilized society. This situation would have been a perfect scenario for the emergence of a modern-day Bernie Goetz.
