Washington's state Senate passed a bill this week that would drop President Trump from the state's 2020 presidential ballot until he releases his tax returns.

The bill, which advanced Tuesday to the state's House of Representatives, according to CBS News, would require any candidate on the ballot for president in the state to release five years of tax returns before appearing in a general or primary election.

Senators voted by a 28-21 margin to approve the bill, according to CBS. The state's attorney general and solicitor told lawmakers in a letter this week that the proposal likely was constitutional, but analysts expect the law if passed to be challenged in federal court.

It will go to the SCOTUS if enacted.

The result will be that Washington’s electoral votes will not be counted.

I say we give the Black Hole of Puget to Venezuela. Of course, Venezuela isn’t as hardcore Stalinist as the Seattle loons.

It will be a good day when the country splits apart and we get to wave goodbye to these idiots forever.

Then we can sit back and enjoy watching their New Amerika turn into a clone of North Korea in a matter of months.

Saying it’s limited only to the office of the Presidency....will trigger it probably to fail in court.

They should be very careful what they wish for, Beta’s tax returns are likely very involved....might take CNN a half hour or so to sort through five years worth.

Make every candidate on the ballot in Washington state release 5 years of their personal tax returns. And all of their school transcripts. And personal health records. And all court records including criminal and civil proceedings. Dental records. All school yearbooks. Property records. Bank statements. Employment history. Did I miss anything?

If that was constitutional CA,WA,NY,NJ could all easily pass something to exclude all non-Marxists and no Republican could ever get elected again.

Yeah but being a national born citizen is a requirement in the Constitution, or use to be.

However, releasing ones PERSONAL tax returns is not anybodies business or required by the Constitution

Is it constitutional?

No. The U.S. Constitution sets the qualifications for POTUS, and releasing tax returns is not one of them.

The Fremont district of Seattle

The statue was an ironic harbinger of Seattle's future (from Wiki):
Lewis E. Carpenter, an English teacher in Poprad originally from Issaquah, Washington, found the monumental statue lying in a scrapyard with a homeless man living inside the hollow statue ...
