WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) released the following statement after voting to disapprove of the national emergency declaration regarding the border:
“I stand with President Trump on the need for a border wall and stronger border security, but the Constitution clearly states that money cannot be spent unless Congress has passed a law to do so.”
On March 4, 2019, Dr. Paul introduced the Border Enforcement, Security, And Funding Enhancement (BE SAFE) Act as a constitutional, fiscally responsible alternative. The BE SAFE Act would impose a $2,500 border security fee on each new green card issued to fund the construction of new border walls or physical barriers and other immigration-related improvements. The bill also directs U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) to deposit all fees paid under the BE SAFE Act into a new Border Security Enhancement Fund at the U.S. Treasury. Only the president would be authorized to use the Fund for certain immigration-related purposes.

I like Paul but he is being disingenuous here. Libertarians are opposed to the wall on principle. Which is why I can’t fully embrace the LP platform...weak on border security.

Oh, bull. Rand has voted to block National defense and to encourage more illegal alien invasion and to weaken the President. More Americans will now be assaulted and killed and the failing social support network in the US will be pushed further toward collapse. Rand Paul has declared himself an enemy and should be treated as such.
So the part in the Constitution about the President protecting states from invasion. I guess that’s just part of the Communist Manifesto, right?

The bill should also include a $250,000 fine and a year in prison for every instance of someone hiring an illegal alien to take a job that rightfully belongs to someone in the US legally.
Until the employers start paying real penalties for hiring illegals then the illegals will continue to invade our country.
To be fair, Rand Paul is a libertarian, not a Libertarian. So while the LP platform might oppose a border wall, that doesn't automatically mean that Rand Paul, a member of the Republican Party, does as well.
