A chummy discussion between Vice President Mike Pence and former vice president Dick Cheney quickly turned into a vigorous back-and-forth over President Donald Trump's foreign policy at a private gathering on Saturday, with Cheney comparing the president's instincts to those of his Democratic predecessor Barack Obama, according to a transcript obtained by The Washington Post. At the closed-door retreat hosted by the American Enterprise Institute on March 9 in Sea Island, Georgia, Cheney respectfully but repeatedly and firmly pressed Pence on a number of the president's foreign policy moves - over which Cheney expressed concerns - from taking a harder line toward U.S. allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to deciding to withdraw troops from Syria during what Cheney fretted was "the middle of a phone call."

Musta got a fresh IV.
So now the Washington Post are fans of Cheney? TDS knows no bounds.
Stopped reading right there
Cheney, who I used to like, has foreign policy views inspired by Lockheed, Boeing, General Electric and all the big defense contractors. They NEED a war and by golly Bush/Cheney could be counted on to give em one!
Hey Dick, little quiz; what does WMD stand for?
War Making Decoy?
I remember those clowns, especially the editors of the Seattle Slimes who celebrated when he was hospitalized. you know the saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend..for now.
How did transcripts of a private meeting get to the MSM?
Sounds like Dick Cheney’s phone is bugged just like Trump’s was.
I love how leftists all of a sudden support people they labeled as warmongers, just to oppose Trump.
There’s not enough dead American soldiers in worthless countries for his liking this year.
And not nearly enough money being spent on nation building.
Dallas Texas 2006, during war time, under Republican George Bush.
So emboldened by Bush's open border policies, 500,000 illegal aliens march on Dallas Texas pushing foreign flags in our faces and while making demands and threats. All while Bush celebrated Cinco De Mayo up in the White House...During war time.
America First! Eff these people.
Cheney is a jackass, always has been.
Dodged the draft by deferments and knocking up his wife asap. Openly quoted as saying he “had better things to do”. Like none of the 58,000 who died had anything better to do.
Then the POS destroyed the USN with his tailhook policies that I’m sure his lesbo daughter loves. He destroyed many completely innocent USN Officers careers.
As veep and a lifelong Bushie on auto-suck, he pushed all of the useless wars we have engaged in.
He is a leftist neocon globalist arab-slobbering jerk, and I will never understand conservatives who admire this azzwipe. And he supported Jeb and had nothing but flowery words for Hillary when she was SOS.
“Sounds like Dick Cheneys phone is bugged just like Trumps was.”
Sounds like Cheney, Mr Deep state himself gave an off the record account of it to his buddies at Wapo.
are you a fan of Cheney?
you dont believe those are Cheneys views?
That’s what I was going to share too, of course he would say this... Cheney = Halliburton = the MIC.
Actually, the Washington Post has always supported Bush-Cheney aggressive foreign policy. The Post supported the Iraq War, Obamas war on Lynda, and Hillarys call for war on Syria. This is Cheneys position too, but not Trumps. So Im not surprised the Post is siding with Cheney against Trump
Everyone that wants war in Syria is a dirty dealer. They are all more than welcome to join up to fight any time they like.
Worth repeating...
If Cheney is so great, why didnt I hear any Republicans calling for him to run for president when Bushs terms were up? Deep down, we all knew the Bush-Cheney administration was a disaster, and we wanted no more of it
