March 7 (UPI) -- Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Thursday delayed the executions of three men on death row and asked corrections officials to review alternative methods of lethal injection after a federal judge compared the state's current process to waterboarding.
The order came after Magistrate Judge Michael Merz issued a reprieve of execution for Warren Henness in January. The judge said Ohio's three-drug protocol for lethal injection would likely cause Henness "severe pain and needless suffering."
Ohio was one of several states to alter the traditional drug protocol it used for decades in lethal injections after European drug companies refused to sell pentobarbital, commonly used in executions, over ethical concerns. The state began using midazolam, a sedative, in executions in 2017.

It’s estimated that there are between 20 to 30 million illegal aliens in-country. Why is it everyone on death row seems to have an anglo name? Why is it that we never read or hear about anyone with an Hispanic or Muslim name being executed? We know they are the population committing the most crimes in America today. So what’s going on?
Or a connection in their purposes.
Truly a buffoon.
Lethal injection to extract information would probably fail. Just a guess.
Cruel and unusual punishment is prohibited, but there is no guarantee of a painless execution.
OR
Hmm, I dunno, lets try each out to make for sure.
I’ve always wondered the same thing.
Pentobarbital has been used for a long time. I worked as Vet Assistant one summer between my junior and senior years in high school in 1965, and that’s what we used.
Having witnessed two very beloved dogs “put to sleep” by a veterinarian’s needle in a matter of a second or two without a whimper or sign of pain I have never understood what the problem is with lethal injection. Why should three different injections be needed to begin with? Both my dogs went from a hopeless state of misery and pain to limp and lifeless so quickly I could hardly believe it and with a single injection. I struggled with tears but the dogs had instant relief. Why won’t the same thing work for humans?
Firing squad. Quick, painless, cheap, effective.
Line all three up—they won’t know what hit them.
Abortion should be banned as "cruel and unusual punishment", not least because its extrajudicial murder. Speaking of extrajudicial murder, it seems to me that Ohio would be better off without the judge involved, and its governor. a Naturally, as always, I mean that in the nicest possible way.
What do they have against nitrogen asphyxiation?
It’s dirt cheap and painless.
Fentanyl. There’s no shortage of it, apparently.

I agree with you but Iwould use carbon monoxide
It would guarantee that the criminal could not be resuscitated
A high concentration would put the criminal out in seconds and death would follow in minutes.
So we should worry about how they die. Did they worry about their victims.
If I have to be put to death, lethal injection seems like the best way to go.
